The mission of Sons of the Wind’s equestrian program is to develop well rounded equestrians starting with Aligning the Education of the Horse and Rider – We work to Develop your understanding with your horse through the clarity of your body language, known as "the seat and the aids". We also work to educate each rider on the Developing of the Advanced Movements through Exercises and Gymnastics – The program takes each equestrian through a progressive, systematic, body of work that develops the rider’s aids and athleticism both mounted and from the ground. The goal is to work with the horse's natural gaits and enhance them through patterns and gymnastic exercise. The ultimate goal is to teach each rider to produce a relaxed, forward, engaged horse through all of the lateral work, lead changes, piaffe and passage. As previously noted, our program provides and encourages the process of training horse and rider Classically. Workshops include demonstration and application of how and when to use work in hand and long-lining and lunging as tools to improve the straightness, suppleness, balance and collection of your horse under saddle. |
